About RenterSay
Built by a renter, for renters.
RenterSay started from a simple frustration: landlords have always been able to check tenants through databases like TICA. But tenants? We had nothing. No way to know if a property had mould problems, an unresponsive property manager, or a history of unfair bond deductions — until it was too late.
So we built the thing we wished existed.
How reviews work
From submission to publication — here’s every step.
Fully anonymous
Your name, email, and identity are never attached to your review. The only identifier is the property address itself.
Address-only
Reviews are tied to a specific address — not to a landlord name, agent name, or company. This keeps the focus on the property and protects everyone involved.
Human-moderated
Every review is read by a real person before it goes live. We check for content that could identify individuals or create legal risk.
The review journey
✍️You write a review
Rate the property and describe your experience. Your identity is never collected — only the address.
🤖Automated safety checks
Three layers of content scanning run instantly: a structural filter, a semantic similarity check, and an AI likelihood score.
👁️Human moderation
A real person reads every review before it goes live. No names, no emails — moderators see only the review text and property address.
Published
Your review goes live and helps future renters.
Revision requested
One opportunity to update your review. You get an email with the reason and a secure link. 7-day window.
Rejected
The review breaches our content guidelines and cannot be published.
If a revision is requested, your updated review goes back through all three steps above. Every review gets at most one revision opportunity — this keeps the process fair without creating endless back-and-forth.
Free for renters. Always.
Reading and writing reviews on RenterSay will never cost you anything. That’s a hard promise, not a marketing line.
To keep the platform running without selling out, we may partner with renter-friendly services — things like energy comparison, contents insurance, and broadband providers. If a partner link appears on the site, it will be clearly labelled and the service will be something genuinely useful for renters — not just whoever paid the most.
Landlords, property managers, and real estate agencies will never advertise on RenterSay. Full stop. Accepting money from the people being reviewed would make every review on this site worthless. We’re not going there.
We don’t sell your personal data. If we ever use aggregated, anonymised suburb-level data — the kind of thing that shows mould rates by postcode, not who wrote what review — it will always be stripped of any information that could identify you or any other individual.
Who we are
RenterSay was founded in Perth, Western Australia in 2026. We’re a small, independent operation — not backed by real estate industry money, not affiliated with any listing portal.
